Let’s Play Bin-Go!

Now available here for your gaming pleasure - Bin-Go!

In our new and absurd version of bingo, Bins replace Balls in place of traditional numbers. Each player starts with a card with 24 numbers, and there are bins numbered 1 to 75 to ‘call’. When an image is drawn, players mark the matching number on their card. This ‘bin-trancing’ game not only adds a fun and a unique twist to the classic bingo experience, but also highlights the diversity and beauty of vernacular handwriting and typography.

Step 3 - When all 75 numbers have been called, the button will disappear, but before that the first to get a full bin wins!

To play another round, just reload the page and the bin numbers will shuffle, and you can play again!

Whether you're bingo aficionados or new to the game, Bin-Go is the perfect way to waste an evening with friends, and is ‘rubbish mountains’ of Bin-Go joy!

This games builds on our fascination and extensive collection of documentary photos of street scenes. As well as the experimental nature of the game, this project also observes how people ‘collect’ and demonstrate ‘ownership’ over these ubiquitous objects. The range of approaches to marking bins, handwriting, typesetting, media and materials also changes between more affluent and less affluent areas, and different boroughs and councils often reflect this (although Lewisham and Southwark as our natural habitat are over represented).
